Garden Renovation & Turfing Mosman
There were a number of jobs done in this Garden Renovation & Turfing Mosman. The gardens were weeded and tidied up. Branches were lopped off the large Norfolk Island Pine that were overhanging the hedges and the pool.Branches were also lopped from the Magnolias overhanging the fence along the side of the pool.
The gardens were then mulched with Pine bark Mini nuggets and finally new turf was laid.

Preparing for the new turf
First the lawn area was forked over to aerate the soil which had become compacted from the children playing soccer on the old lawn. The holes made by the fork let air and water penetrate to the root zone of the grass which aids healthy grass growth.
Next the top soil is brought in. We use a sandy top soil and the sand doesn’t compact easily. This reduces the possibility of the soil becoming compacted in the future. The top soil is then levelled out to provide an even surface for the new turf to be laid on.
Last the new turf is laid. The turf used is Sir Walter Soft Leaf Buffalo. The Sir Walter is a great all round grass that tolerates shade as well as growing well in full sun. Sir Walter wears well and is quick to recover when damaged. The Sir Walter remains quite green in winter and if cut long (approximately 50 to 60 mm) keeps out a lot of weeds and looks much better than if it were to be cut shorter.
